Hi, I’m Anja Poker, an artist from Germany. I love drawing animals and landscapes, primarily working with oil paints or pastels. The cat portrait I entered in the 2024 Catit International Cat Art Contest was created using pastels on pastelmat, a surface that works beautifully with pastels and colored pencils.
Cookie
When we picked up Cookie at her previous household, they told us she was 8 weeks old. She was so small and she couldn’t walk properly, so we visited the vet the next day. There, it was revealed that poor Cookie was only 4,5 to 5 weeks old! Luckily, she would eat solid cat food and could survive without her mother. Our dog (11 years old) and our other cat took excellent care of the new furbaby in the house. We love our Cookie so much with all of our hearts and we are glad that she came to a super loving family!
Luna
We adopted our lovely little wonder through TWAS Animal Rescue. She was very anxious and shy, but we were sold right away!
Rio
Rio is the second cat we adopted, and he really changed our lives. While he often keeps our other kitten company, he will ask for heaps of attention every single day.
Serafina
Little Serafina had a rough start in life: she changed owners when she was only 5 months old and lost her vision at the age of two. Luckily, her human loves her a lot, and makes sure she is cared for in the best way possible. Read Serafina’s full story.
Horus
Horus was adopted when he was 2 months old and has been his human’s greatest treasure ever since. The affectionate yet adventurous tabby likes to play with scrunchies, enjoys going for walks on the beach in his harness, and loves to hitch a ride on his human’s bicycle!
Maggie Mae
Megs is a sweet, gentle, and affectionate girl. She may be small, but she is mighty taking on her big brothers in a rousing game of tumble wrestling.
Moo Moo
While it’s an unlikely friendship, Moo Moo the cat grew up with… rats! Even as a kitten, he loved the family’s pet rats so much, that his humans bought him a toy rat, named Ratty. Today, Moo Moo and Ratty are still inseparable, with Moo Moo tossing his stuffed rat around and chasing it until he’s exhausted. Pure bliss!
Chocolate Cookie & Caramel Swirly
Chocolate Cookie and Caramel Swirly are brother and sister, born to stray cats in a friendly human’s backyard. The siblings have been inseparable since birth, and now live their best 9 lives in sunny Australia, where their human continues to care for the parent cats as well.
Brownie
Brownie’s humans believe that the fluffy feline was destined to come into their lives. They live life as if Brownie has always been there – as if there never was a time without him.
Luna
Black cat Luna once got addicted to protein shakes. While she loved the treat a lot, her humans had to cut her off after she gained too much weight. Oops!
Milo
Milo suffers from severe anxiety due to the things he went through before he was rescued. He is still absolutely terrified of men, yet has come very far, especially since meeting his new little sister, Margot.
Darya
Ever since she was a wee little kitten, Darya has lived aboard a boat. She has no fear of water, is a brilliant swimmer, and must be the cutest little sea captain ever. Make sure to read Darya’s full story!
Adrien
