Spaying or neutering a cat will completely change their personality

YOU’RE RIGHT!

While some of your cat’s behavior can be hormone-driven, their overall personality won’t change. A scaredy cat, for example, won’t suddenly become outgoing – no matter how much we want them to. Some negative behaviors can however be prevented or reduced by spaying or neutering your cat, such as spraying, mounting or fighting.

Chocolate is not only dangerous for dogs, but also for cats

YOU’RE RIGHT!

Chocolate contains a substance called theobromine, which cannot be metabolized by cats. As a result, the theobromine will build up in your cat’s body and lead to serious conditions, particularly liver failure. Some symptoms of chocolate poisoning in cats are restlessness, diarrhea, vomiting, increased breathing rate, elevated temperature, muscle rigidity, and seizures. Darn it, now you’ll have to eat all the chocolate yourself…

Kittens from the same litter can have different fathers

YOU’RE RIGHT!

This phenomenon is called superfecundation and is fairly common in cats. A female cat is fertile for up to 7 days on end. Therefore, if she gets several male cats between the sheets – or leaves, in this case – during this period, her eggs can be fertilized by various males, causing the litter mates to have different fathers. Note that 1 kitten can only have 1 biological father though. That would be quite the family reunion, huh?
